End-User Licence Agreement
Last updated: 17 July 2026 — applies to the Kotelio app (web, PWA and Android) and its trial version.
In short: Kotelio is licensed to you, not sold. You may use it on your devices, including for your professional activity. Your plans belong to you and stay with you. The app's code, however, remains the property of its author — it may not be copied, resold or decompiled.
1. Who, and what
Kotelio is building floor-plan software (2D/3D, quantity take-offs, exports), published by Lauriane Cioffi (“the Publisher”) — contact: contact@kotelio.com. By installing or using Kotelio, you accept this agreement. If you do not accept it, do not use the app.
2. The trial version
The trial version is free and has no time limit. It lets you draw a complete project (walls, rooms, floors, 3D, walkthrough, background plan, image and PDF exports) but reserves certain features for the full version (services, conduit, ceilings, textures, take-offs, DXF, multi-project, laser meter, cloud…). It is intended for evaluating the software or for occasional use; it may be changed at any time.
3. Paid licences
- The full version is activated with a licence code: annual (12 months), monthly (1 month) or, where applicable, lifetime.
- The code is personal: it corresponds to one user (or one workstation within a company) and may be activated on your own devices — computer, tablet, phone. It may not be lent, resold or published.
- When it expires, the app returns to the trial version: your plans remain readable, editable within the trial's limits, and exportable — your data is never held hostage.
- The commercial terms (price, payment methods, right of withdrawal where applicable) are set out at the time of purchase.
4. What the licence allows — and forbids
The Publisher grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right of use, for your own needs, personal or professional (drawing plans for your own projects and for your clients, producing take-offs, exports and documents for them).
You may not, however:
- copy, publish, distribute or resell the app, its code, its visuals or its manual, in whole or in part;
- decompile, de-obfuscate or reconstruct the source code, except in the cases strictly permitted by law (art. L.122-6-1 of the French Intellectual Property Code);
- circumvent or attempt to circumvent the licensing mechanism or the trial version;
- offer Kotelio as a hosted service or on a sublicensed or white-label basis, without the Publisher's written consent.
5. Intellectual property
The app, its code, its interface, its icons, its textures, its manual and its documentation are protected by copyright (art. L.111-1 et seq. of the French IP Code) and remain the exclusive property of the Publisher. The plans you draw belong entirely to you, including their exports (PDF, DXF, images, CSV): you do with them as you wish.
6. Your data and your backups
Kotelio runs locally: your plans are stored on your device (see the privacy policy). You are responsible for your backups — for this the app provides the automatic vault and the “Back up everything” button. The Publisher cannot restore data it has never held.
7. A helper tool — your expertise remains your own
Kotelio is a drawing and calculation tool that carries out what you draw. Areas, take-offs, circuit proposals and other results are calculated from your input: they must be checked by you before any contractual, regulatory or construction use. If you are a professional, you remain solely responsible for the documents you deliver to your clients.
8. Warranties and liability
The app is provided “as is”, with the care expected of a professional tool but without any warranty that it is entirely free of errors or fit for a particular purpose. To the extent permitted by law, the Publisher's liability, on any grounds whatsoever, is capped at the amount you actually paid for the licence over the last twelve months. Nothing in this agreement excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded (wilful misconduct, gross negligence, statutory consumer warranties).
9. Updates and evolution
Updates are included for the duration of your licence. The Publisher may change, add or remove features, without substantially degrading what motivated your purchase during the current period.
10. Termination
The agreement applies for as long as you use Kotelio. In the event of a serious breach (licence circumvention, resale of the code…), the Publisher may revoke the licence, without prejudice to any other remedy. When it ends — for whatever reason — your plans remain yours and exportable.
11. Governing law
This agreement is governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, an amicable solution will be sought before any action; failing that, the French courts have jurisdiction. If any clause is held invalid, the others remain in force.
